Synthetic Oil Sorbents are made from melt blown polypropylene and will absorb up to 25 times their own weight in petroleum products.  Oil Sorbents are equally effective in soaking up petroleum based solvents and paints, vegetable oils, and other non-water soluble chemicals. Synthetics are light weight which makes deployment is easy and saves time, money and effort. Synthetic oil sorbents will not absorb water, will float indefinitely, are wringable, dustless, unaffected by temperature, flame resistant and impervious to both rot and mildew. Synthetic oil sorbents should be disposed of in accordance to local and state legislation. Contact OPEC Systems or your waste contractor for more information.

As with all sorbents, care must be taken as the sorbents do not alter the chemical characteristics of the chemical spilt.

Chemical sorbents are  ideal for hazardous liquid cleanup. A surfactant-treated polypropylene, Chemical sorbents absorb 16 times its weight in chemicals, water or oil. Versatile and cost-effective, chemical sorbents can be used on a wide range of chemicals, including hydrofluoric acid. Its fast wicking actions minimizes the problems of hazmat spills. They are chemically inert, so it will not react with aggressive fluids. It is certified by GTS Duratek and leaves on .02% ash. The product's green color - the universal symbol for safety - indicates that it is intended for use on hazardous materials.
