Oil Only Organic Sorbents

OPEC Systems' range of oil only organic sorbernts are made from a 100% organic cellulose fibre which has undergone a unique water proofing technique.  It is designed to absorb only oil (hydrocarbon) based products (e.g. petrol, diesel, oil) whilst repelling water. The fibres absorb oils on contact through capillary action.  Oils are locked into the cellulose fibres, preventing leaching and handling problems common with other products.

  • Absorbs liquid within fibres versus adsorbing liquids on fibres’ exterior only

  • Retains the liquids absorbed; prevents leaching of sorbed liquids

  • Landfill – passes and exceeds Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP), Paint Filter Test and Liquid Release Test (LRT) – won’t leach/drain, eliminates free liquid problems 
  • Incinerates at low temperatures (industrial boilers, etc.)
  • Bio-remediation – will break down to natural organic elements with the use of microbial enzyme action
